Description

A deliciously sweet and spicy jam made with fresh apples, honey, and jalapeño peppers, perfect for spreading on toast or pairing with cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped apples
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup chopped jalapeño peppers (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 package (1.75 oz) fruit pectin

Instructions

  1. Prepare jars and lids for canning.
  2. In a large pot, combine chopped apples, honey, jalapeño peppers, and lemon juice.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  4. Add the fruit pectin and stir well, then return to a full boil for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and ladle the jam into prepared jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace.
  6. Wipe the rims of the jars with a clean cloth and seal with lids.
  7. Process in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
  8. Let the jars cool completely before storing them in a cool, dark place.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of jalapeño to control the heat level.
  • This jam pairs well with cream cheese and crackers.
  • Store in the refrigerator after opening.
