- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Fill the donut pan with the batter and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let the donuts cool before filling them with the cream mixture.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Fill each donut with the whipped cream mixture.
- Sprinkle granulated sugar on top of each filled donut and use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar until golden brown.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
