Description

BBQ Pulled Jackfruit Sliders are a delicious and innovative plant-based alternative to traditional pulled pork, featuring tender jackfruit simmered in a rich BBQ sauce and served on soft slider buns.


Ingredients

  • 2 cans young green jackfruit in water or brine, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Slider buns
  • Coleslaw (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
  3. Add the drained jackfruit, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes.
  4. Pour in the BBQ sauce and stir to combine. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, until the jackfruit is tender and can be shredded with a fork.
  5. Shred the jackfruit using two forks, mixing it with the sauce.
  6. Serve the pulled jackfruit on slider buns, topped with coleslaw if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add cayenne pepper to the jackfruit mixture.
