  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the sweet potatoes by peeling and chopping them into uniform pieces. Boil in a large pot of water until tender, approximately 15-20 minutes.
  3. Mash the sweet potatoes in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  4. Add the brown sugar, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir until combined.
  5. Transfer the sweet potato mixture into a greased baking dish.
  6. Make the topping by mixing the chopped pecans, flour, and softened butter until crumbly.
  7. Sprinkle the topping over the sweet potato layer.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm.

Notes

For an extra touch, garnish with crushed pecans before serving. You can prepare the sweet potato mixture a day in advance and refrigerate it.
