- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 4 cups water
- 4 oz crispy bacon, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: breadcrumbs, chives
Instructions
- Boil the water in a large pot over the fire or camping stove.
- Cook the elbow macaroni in the boiling water for 8-10 minutes until al dente.
- Prepare the bacon in a cooking pan over the fire until crisp.
- Drain the pasta and reduce the heat to low.
- Mix in the milk and cheddar cheese until melted into a creamy sauce.
- Add the crispy bacon and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot, with optional toppings if desired.

Pre-cook the pasta and bacon for a quicker assembly at the campsite.
