Description

Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 oz crispy bacon, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: breadcrumbs, chives

Instructions

  1. Boil the water in a large pot over the fire or camping stove.
  2. Cook the elbow macaroni in the boiling water for 8-10 minutes until al dente.
  3. Prepare the bacon in a cooking pan over the fire until crisp.
  4. Drain the pasta and reduce the heat to low.
  5. Mix in the milk and cheddar cheese until melted into a creamy sauce.
  6. Add the crispy bacon and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve hot, with optional toppings if desired.

Notes

Pre-cook the pasta and bacon for a quicker assembly at the campsite.
