Ingredients

  • 1 salmon fillet (about 2 pounds)
  • 1 cedar plank (soaked in water for at least 1 hour)
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the maple syrup, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the soaked cedar plank on the grill and close the lid for about 5 minutes until it starts to smoke.
  4. Place the salmon fillet on the cedar plank, skin side down.
  5. Brush the maple glaze generously over the salmon.
  6. Close the grill lid and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Remove from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
