Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb lobster meat, cooked and chopped
  • 1 cup crab meat
  • 1 cup carrots, chopped
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup seafood or vegetable broth
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp dill
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (for biscuits)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Melt butter in a Dutch oven over medium heat. Sauté onions, carrots, and celery until tender (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. Add the shrimp, lobster, and crab meat, then stir in the flour and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Pour in the broth and heavy cream, then bring to a gentle simmer until thickened.
  5. Sprinkle in dill, thyme, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, paprika, and salt. Cut in cold butter until resembling coarse crumbs.
  7. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese and just enough milk to form a dough.
  8. Pour the seafood filling into a baking dish and drop spoonfuls of biscuit dough on top.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the biscuit topping is golden brown.
  10. Let sit for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Make-ahead: Prepare the seafood filling and refrigerate for up to 48 hours before adding the biscuit topping and baking.
