- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for cinnamon swirl)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mix the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until smooth.
- Add the baking soda and salt to the banana mixture. Fold in the flour gently until just combined.
- Prepare the cinnamon sugar by mixing the granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Layer half of the banana bread batter in the loaf pan, and sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
- Add the remaining batter, then top with the remaining cinnamon sugar.
- Swirl the batter gently with a knife to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar and milk until smooth and drizzle over the cooled bread.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and moisture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the refrigerator.
