Ingredients

- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter (soft)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup tutti frutti
- 2 tbsp milk (for brushing)
Instructions
- Mix the warm milk, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and the yeast in a bowl. Let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes until frothy.
- Add the flour, remaining sugar, softened butter, and salt. Mix to form a soft dough.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Lightly incorporate the tutti frutti into the dough.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into equal portions, shaping into balls.
- Arrange the buns on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover and let them rise for another 30 to 40 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Brush the tops with milk.
- Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush the tops with melted butter after baking.
Notes
Make-ahead: Prepare the dough the night before and refrigerate overnight. For variations, try different dried fruits or chocolate chips.
