  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Gluten-Free

Description

A flavorful dish combining spicy Sriracha, sweet brown sugar, and tender chicken, perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 2 cups rice (Jasmine or white)

Instructions

  1. Begin with the chicken: Cut the boneless, skinless chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Whisk together the sauce: In a medium mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and Sriracha. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Sizzle away: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until golden-brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Pour on the flavor: Reduce heat to low, pour the sauce over the chicken, and stir to coat. Let bubble for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Serve with joy: Present the Firecracker Chicken over a bed of rice, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For added depth, consider marinating the chicken in the sauce beforehand. Customize with your favorite side dishes.
