Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 cup diced cooked ham
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheese and diced ham until evenly distributed.
  5. Pour in the milk, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently 5–6 times.
  7. Roll out the dough to about 1-inch thickness and cut out circles.
  8. Arrange the biscuits on a baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  9. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Serve warm, optionally slathered with butter or drizzled with honey. You can also refrigerate the dough for up to a day before baking.
