Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen hashbrowns (30 oz)
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits (16.3 oz)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper, cooking for 1 minute.
  4. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer the hashbrowns, followed by the sausage gravy.
  6. Top with biscuits, placing them evenly over the gravy.
  7. If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the sausage.
