- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced thinly
- 2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed and cut
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite type)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup beef broth or water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is soft and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish and layer the sliced potatoes evenly at the bottom.
- Spoon the beef mixture on top of the potatoes, followed by the green beans.
- Pour the beef broth over all the layers and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and sprinkle shredded cheese on top. Bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Allow to sit for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For best results, allow the casserole to rest after baking to help the flavors meld. Use fresh ingredients for optimal taste.
