- 2 slices hearty bread (sourdough or rustic Italian)
- 2 ounces mozzarella cheese
- 2 ounces sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons sun-dried tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 clove garlic (optional)
- Fresh basil (optional)
Instructions
- Slice the bread into two pieces.
- Slice the mozzarella and cheddar cheese into even pieces.
- Sizzle minced garlic in butter over low heat until fragrant, then cool.
- Spread garlic-infused butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- Layer mozzarella cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and top with the second slice of bread.
- Heat a skillet over medium-low heat, place the sandwich, and press down.
- Flip the sandwich after 3-4 minutes and cook until crispy and cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat, let rest for a minute, slice, and serve.
Notes
For added flavor, consider cooking the sandwich in an air fryer at 370°F for 8 minutes, flipping halfway through.
