Description
A delightful blend of succulent shrimp, linguine, and a garlicky butter sauce, elevated by the iconic Old Bay seasoning.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz linguine or spaghetti
- 1 lb large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1½ tbsp Old Bay seasoning, divided
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
- Grated Parmesan (optional)
- ½ cup reserved pasta water
Instructions
- Cook your pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
- Prep the shrimp: Toss the shrimp with 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning, salt, and olive oil.
- Sear the shrimp: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the shrimp for about 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove from skillet.
- Create the sauce: In the skillet, add butter and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant.
- Flavors unite: Stir in lemon juice, zest, remaining Old Bay, and reserved pasta water. Let simmer.
- Combine it all: Add pasta and shrimp back to the skillet. Toss gently to coat and heat through.
- Finish with flair: Garnish with parsley and Parmesan, serve hot.
Notes
Ensure to reserve pasta water to bind the sauce to the noodles well. Fresh shrimp yields the best texture and flavor.
