Old Bay Garlic Shrimp Pasta

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Pescatarian

Description

A delightful blend of succulent shrimp, linguine, and a garlicky butter sauce, elevated by the iconic Old Bay seasoning.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz linguine or spaghetti
  • 1 lb large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1½ tbsp Old Bay seasoning, divided
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Grated Parmesan (optional)
  • ½ cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. Cook your pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Prep the shrimp: Toss the shrimp with 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning, salt, and olive oil.
  3. Sear the shrimp: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the shrimp for about 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove from skillet.
  4. Create the sauce: In the skillet, add butter and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant.
  5. Flavors unite: Stir in lemon juice, zest, remaining Old Bay, and reserved pasta water. Let simmer.
  6. Combine it all: Add pasta and shrimp back to the skillet. Toss gently to coat and heat through.
  7. Finish with flair: Garnish with parsley and Parmesan, serve hot.

Notes

Ensure to reserve pasta water to bind the sauce to the noodles well. Fresh shrimp yields the best texture and flavor.
