Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Glaze or powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Prepare the dry ingredients by whisking together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients by whisking eggs in another bowl, then add buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Blend the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 18-22 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack and glaze or dust with powdered sugar before serving.
