- 1 cup bread flour
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
- 1 cup active sourdough starter
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Combine dry ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, bread flour, and salt.
- Add starter and water: Pour in the active sourdough starter and the water, and combine until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for about 4-6 hours until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven: About 30 minutes before the dough finishes rising, preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Shape the dough: Turn the risen dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a round loaf.
- Transfer the loaf onto parchment paper if using a baking sheet, and cover for another 30 minutes.
- Bake the loaf: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and cool on a wire rack before slicing.
