One-Pot Shawarma Chicken & Orzo for Effortless Meals

Description

A delicious and easy-to-make one-pot meal featuring tender chicken and orzo pasta seasoned with aromatic shawarma spices.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 tablespoons shawarma spice blend
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Add chicken thighs and season with shawarma spice blend, salt, and pepper.
  5. Cook until chicken is browned on all sides.
  6. Add orzo and chicken broth, bringing the mixture to a boil.
  7. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes or until orzo is cooked and chicken is tender.
  8. Stir in cherry tomatoes and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add cayenne pepper to the spice blend.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • This dish can be served with a side of yogurt or tzatziki for added flavor.
