- 4 large croissants, cut into pieces
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 cup cooked sausage or ham, diced
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- Gravy for serving (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until frothy and well combined.
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or oil.
- Spread the croissant pieces across the bottom of the greased dish.
- Sprinkle the diced sausage or ham over the croissant layer, followed by chopped onions and bell peppers.
- Pour the egg mixture over the layered ingredients, pressing down slightly.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- The next morning, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the plastic wrap, sprinkle the cheese on top, and bake for 35-40 minutes until set and golden brown.
- Serve warm, optionally topped with a drizzle of gravy.
Notes
Ensure croissants are slightly stale for the best texture. Use an air fryer for a quick cook time.
