A delightful appetizer combining smoky sausages with sweet brown sugar and tangy pineapple, perfect for gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 package Lil’ Smokies
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks (canned or fresh)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • Toothpicks for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, barbecue sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, and pepper. Stir until well blended.
  3. Place the Lil’ Smokies into the baking dish and drizzle the sauce mixture over them.
  4. Scatter the pineapple chunks over the top of the smokies.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the edges bubble and the brown sugar caramelizes.
  6. Serve warm with toothpicks.

Notes

You can make the sauce a day in advance and refrigerate it. For a healthier version, try turkey or chicken sausages.
