Description
A delicious twist on the classic pigs in a blanket, these pretzel-wrapped sausages are served with a rich and creamy beer cheese dip.

- 1 package of cocktail sausages
- 1 can of refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 1 egg, beaten
- Coarse sea salt, for sprinkling
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup beer
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the crescent roll dough and cut it into triangles.
- Wrap each cocktail sausage in a triangle of dough.
- In a pot, bring water to a boil and add baking soda.
- Boil each wrapped sausage for about 30 seconds, then remove and place on a baking sheet.
- Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
- For the beer cheese dip, combine cheese, beer, flour, mustard, and garlic powder in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir until melted and smooth.
- Serve the pretzel pigs in a blanket with the beer cheese dip.
Notes
- For a spicier dip, add some cayenne pepper or hot sauce.
- These can be made ahead of time and reheated in the oven.
