Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, butter, brown sugar, and salt to form a crust.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan and bake for 10 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, corn syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Stir in the chopped pecans and pour the mixture over the baked crust.
  6. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until set.
  7. Drizzle caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle with sea salt.
  8. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar.
  • Make sure to let the bars cool completely before cutting for cleaner edges.
