  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Whisk together your sourdough starter, warm water, sugar, and olive oil in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Gradually stir in the flour and salt until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Transfer the shaggy dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Gather the kneaded dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover it with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 4–6 hours.
  5. Punch down the dough gently and reshape it into a loaf. Place it seam-side down in a greased loaf pan and let it rise again for 1–2 hours.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Bake the loaf for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped on the bottom.
  8. Allow the bread to cool completely on a rack before slicing.
