Description

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of bread, cubed (challah or brioche)
  • 2 ripe peaches, sliced
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups of milk (whole, almond, or oat)
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your baking dish by greasing it with butter or cooking spray.
  3. Layer the cubed bread and sliced peaches in the baking dish.
  4. Whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
  5. Pour the custard mixture over the bread and peaches, pressing down gently.
  6. Refrigerate covered with foil for at least 30 minutes, or overnight.
  7. Bake covered for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar.
